PETA SAYS “BETTER OFF DEAD”
Stella Starr, TheDogPlace.org Pet Perspectives
Scantily clad women parading with bloody dead pets prove they use donations to seek sickening publicity but PETA kills the very pets you tried to protect!
Wyoma Clouss, an AKC judge, sent this to TheDogPlace.org and the editor asked me to share it with readers. It is hard trying to educate owners when they are constantly bombarded by PETA’s multi-million $$$ budget. TheDogPlace.org wants young families and new pet owners to know the truth.

The internet is full of PETA quotes like (my cats, your dogs) are better off dead? And another one attributed to PETA is "better dead than fed". What does that mean?
Nathan Winograd says “After my November debate with PETA's attorney at the University of Virginia Law School, in which (they) argued that animals were better off dead and that shelters should do little more than kill them, I argued that they had a right to live and shelters should be more than death camps.
He says "that PETA has killed 29,426 animals in the last decade, has been caught stealing animals to put them to death, supports the killing of all pit bulls in all shelters, and has told shelters not to work with rescuers but to kill the animals instead.”
It was hard for me to find statistics that show the number of animals killed by PETA. In just one instance TheDogPlace.org reported PETA throws dogs and cats in NC dumpster but the case was dismissed against those arrested employees.
Here is a new twist on that old quote. “Money Talks and PETA Walks.” Do people actually get paid off to dismiss charges?

Nathan Winograd says “Here is the data, self-reported by PETA to the Virginia Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, showing roughly 9 out of 10 animals they seek out are killed by them.”
I looked it up and as unbelievable as it sounds, it is true. PETA kills most of the animals it "rescues".
Did you know that PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk advocates PETA’s position on killing all pitbull terriers? That's just a ploy. I suspect she would happily kill a poodle. TheDogPlace Terrorist Section doesn't hold back and it seems plain to me that PETA is all about the tax-free money and publicity for sick egos. What I want to know is why there are no criminal prosecutions for animal cruelty?
Mr. Winograd is more forgiving but he makes it very clear in the links in his facebook. He says “Here is a video made by Shelby County KY shelter volunteers after PETA celebrated when that shelter announced it was going to resume killing after four years as a No Kill shelter: http://vimeo.com/48651351 And “Here is a letter by the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies asking the State Vet to revoke PETA's ability to take in and kill animals: http://bit.ly/ZgBzfb
Most real animal advocacy groups agree that PETA is getting away with murder. Literally. Even when it goes public, nothing is done. Look at this - “Puppies PETA killed within minutes in the back of a van after promising to find them
homes: http://bit.ly/XCSdI3. PETA described them as "adorable" and "perfect." Then they get tossed on the side of the road or into a dumpster. Yes, that too, I read that in TheDogPress.com so before you donate to PETA, look at these photos and see where your donations go.

The photo really got to me and although Mr. Winograd apologizes to readers, I think he was wise to show what really happens. I am ashamed that I once donated and my money went to make things like this happen. Since I have become interested in researching and writing about the animals I love, I have learned more than I really wanted to know.
Next time I will find something more uplifting to share with you. It is very depressing and I know pet owners just "don't wanna think about it" as my cat friend said to me. But millions of people make themselves feel better by donating to such groups instead of taking time to check out local rescue groups. While some of those rescues have learned about free money, most of them are real people doing real work and they could use that donation you were thinking about sending to PETA or the HSUS people.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is an organization that publicly claims to represent the best interest of animals — indeed their “ethical treatment.” Yet approximately 2,000 animals pass through PETA’s front door every year and very few make it out alive. The vast majority — 96 percent in 2011 — exit the facility out the back door after they have been killed, when Pet Cremation Services of Tidewater stops by on their regular visits to pick up their remains. Between these visits, the bodies are stored in the giant walk-in freezer PETA installed for this very purpose. It is a freezer that cost $9,370 and, like the company which incinerates the bodies of PETA’s victims, was paid for with the donations of animal lovers who could never have imagined that the money they donated to help animals would be used to end their lives instead. In fact, in the last 11 years, PETA has killed 29,426 dogs, cats, rabbits, and other domestic animals.
Most animal lovers find this hard to believe. But seeing is believing. And if it is true that a picture speaks a thousand words, the following images speak volumes about who and what PETA really stands for.

The PETA headquarters is on the aptly named Front Street. While claiming to be an animal rights organization, PETA does not believe animals have a right to live. Instead, it believes that people have a right to kill them, as long as the killing is done “humanely,” which PETA interprets to mean poisoning them with an overdose of barbiturates, even if the animals are not suffering. In 2012, 733 dogs entered this building. They killed 602 of them. Only 12 were adopted. Also in 2012, they impounded 1,110 cats. 1,045 were put to death. Seven of them were adopted. They also took in 34 other companion animals, such as rabbits, of which 28 were put to death. Only four were adopted.

A supermarket dumpster full of garbage bags. When police officers looked inside, they found the bodies of dead animals — animals killed by PETA. PETA described these animals as “adorable” and “perfect.” A veterinarian who naively gave PETA some of the animals, thinking they would find them homes, and examined the dead bodies of others, testified that they were “healthy” and “adoptable.”

A mother cat and her two kittens, all perfectly healthy and adoptable and none in danger of being killed until they were given to PETA by a veterinarian who was trying to find them homes and was told by PETA employees that they would have no problem adopting them out. After PETA lied to him and the mother and her kittens were entrusted to their care, they reportedly killed them, within minutes, in the back of a van.

Puppies killed by PETA in the back of a van — a donor-funded slaughterhouse on wheels. Despite $35,000,000 in annual revenues and millions of “animal-loving” members, PETA does not even try to find them homes. PETA has no adoption hours, does no adoption promotion, has no adoption floor, but is registered with the State of Virginia as a “humane society” or “animal shelter.”
